Stress, genetics, deficiencies, infections, chemotherapy, medications, tension on the hair, psoriasis, alopecia, and dermatitis are just a few of the causes of hair loss that can alter the quantity and quality of oil secreted from the gland, making the environment unfavourable for the growth of new hair. The hair has different stages in its growth cycle. telogen, catagen, and anagen. In the telogen phase, we can lose 100s of hairs per day, and the same number when new follicles enter the anagen phase. In order to stop hair loss, the goal of microneedling these places is to try to keep the hair in the anagen phase. Hair loss is rarely, if ever, an illness in and of itself. It's common to experience more severe hair loss as we age. A few days following the treatment, you can start to see some flakes on your scalp. The top layer of the scalp is shedding, which is both natural and desirable. Aftercare: + In the days following your treatment, you can suffer some scalp soreness. This is also typical given that there were numerous minor injuries caused by the microneedling. + For at least a few days, refrain from putting artificial perfumes on your scalp. Any type of hair shampoo or product with artificial fragrances falls under this category. + Make sure to not expose your scalp to the sun after the treatment, as the skin needling increases your skin sensitivity. + Do not wash your hair at least 24 hours after treatment. + Ensure pillow cases are clean following the treatment to prevent potential infections.
